Arts In India…A River of traditions
The many, many traditions of art in India, folk or formal, performing or visual, are like a mighty river, its waters the mingling of many streams that represent different social and religious practices and philosophies that have nurtured an Indian way of life.
Finding its source in the bosom of this land, the River carries with it all that it gathers on its way…good and bad, happiness and sorrow, the very life of the land it traverses.
The Sudhaaya Narrative
It is only when these expressions of the human soul, are understood within the ambit of their living context, in their connection to communities within which they are nurtured, that their essence can be experienced.
The work of Sudhaaya, illuminates contexts and connections, takes us back to the source and makes us alive in the present. Through its work the foundation invites the spectator to go beyond the surface, to delve deep into a language of universal symbols and to truly participate in the rituals of art that India so generously offers.
