Showcasing The Arts
To bring the beauty of our performing traditions to the fore and to reconnectpeople to their timeless relevance is the main objective of the many performances, festivals, collaborative works that the foundation has supported. The fact that these have been appreciated and applauded by many has been our only reward.
Sudhaaya and Community
The arts in tradition are innately designed to serve the purpose of communicating through a symbolic language that is universal in nature. Since 2019 Sudhaaya Dance Foundation has been involved in projects that have documented lesser-known aspects of the Indian Cultural heritage, used traditional art forms for creating awareness on social issues and the environment and provided employment opportunities to traditional artiste communities.
Disseminating Knowledge
Sudhaaya Dance Foundation has provided a platform for meaningful interactions between artistes and scholars, enabling different perspectives to emerge. Seminars, lecture-demonstrations, and workshops are organized to give audiences an understanding of indigenous art forms. These events also aid in illuminating the connection that both folk and formal expressions of visual and performing arts have to the living culture of India.
Sudhaaya and Children
The legacy of traditions is always carried forward through continuing generations. It is for this reason that Sudhaaya Dance Foundation has since its inception cultivated a vibrant connect with children. Dance classes, workshops and performances have been regularly organized.
The work of Sudhaaya, illuminates contexts and connections, takes us back to the sourceand makes us alive in the present. Through its work the foundation invites the spectator to go beyond the surface, to delve deep into a language of universal symbols and to truly participate in the rituals of art that India so generously offers.
